General Guidelines for the Morgan County 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant

Guidlines for each site:

  1. Morning sessions will be held from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wedesdays, and Thursdays. There will be no Friday sessions.
  2. After school sessions will be held from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. There will be no Friday sessions. The after school sessions will follow the schedule below:
    • 3:30-4:00 p.m. Nutrition/Planning time
    • 4:00-4:45 p.m. Fine Arts/Academics/Self-esteem programs
    • 4:45-5:30 p.m. Fine Arts/Academics/Self-esteem programs
  3. Site Coordinators must be on site from 3:30 p.m. until the participants are gone, hopefully by 5:30 p.m.
  4. All schools must have their library and computer lab open on Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. This will be a good time for story telling, puppet shows, book clubs, guest speakers, movies, family shows (Andy Griffith, Dick Van Dyke, My Three Sons, I Love Lucy, etc.)
  5. Each site must have somone in the office to answer the phone

Guidelines for teachers responsible for sessions:

  1. All personnel will be responsible for recruiting participants.
  2. Each teacher must keep attendance for his/her sessions.
  3. Each teacher will submit weekly lesson plans and/or a unit of plan to the site coordinator.
  4. When a teacher is absent, he/she will be responsible for getting substitute for the sessions and must have lesson plans ready for the substitute. The teacher should inform the site coordinator as soon as possible.
  5. Grades will not be given for the after school participation. However, rewards may be given.
  6. There is a limited budget for supplies. Teachers will need to request form for items they need for their program. These forms should be sent to Kathy Carroll.
  7. Teacher assistants will be allowed only if they are needed for the success of the program.
  8. Teachers may work up to (6) hours a week.
